Creating Publications Which Really Work

Good communication is at the heart of effective external relations. A strong portfolio of publications can:

  • Engage the interest of stakeholders and new audiences.
  • Differentiate you from the competition.
  • Showcase your institution's creativity.
  • Provide you with a strong voice across all mediums from the web through to printed materials.
  • Provide you with the right vehicles to carry your key messages.
  • Stimulate debate and invite interaction with your stakeholders.
Who should attend?

Responsibility for producing good publications is often shared across teams and the Forum will be beneficial for everyone involved in planning, writing or commissioning publications, whether their role is in marketing, communications, alumni relations or fundraising. It will also have relevance for those wishing to move into these areas and add to their experience.

About the forum:

This lively Forum will stimulate new ideas, and to help you to plan a powerful publications strategy which will encourage effective input from colleagues and overcome the constraints of increasingly squeezed budgets. Specific sessions will focus on creating a convincing case for support and the best approaches to adopt when writing case studies or for the web.

Delegates will:
  • Be inspired to take a fresh look at their publications.
  • Gain the confidence to develop their publication strategies further and reassess their online publications.
  • Benefit from the experience of others and take away helpful hints and tips.
  • Be able to adapt their publications strategy to the rapidly changing technological environment and the reality of shrinking budgets.
