Raina Lenney

Raina S. Lenney
Assistant Vice President, Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
American University

Raina S. Lenney joined American University in October 2009. As assistant vice president of alumni relations and annual giving, she is responsible for advancing the mission of the university through programs, benefits and services designed to engage AU's alumni constituency. She oversees all aspects of the alumni relations and annual giving programs, including the AU Alumni Association board; domestic, local, and international programs; affinity outreach; school-based outreach; student and young alumni programs; and phone, mail and e-solicitation outreach. She also served briefly as the interim vice president of development and alumni relations, and is a member of the Presidents Council.

Prior to joining the staff of American University, Lenney served as senior director for alumni relations at The George Washington University. She joined GW's staff in 2002 in the annual fund, and later spent several years working in development communications before transitioning into alumni relations. A frequent presenter at CASE conferences, she currently serves as a commissioner with CASE's Commission on Alumni Relations. She is a member of PCUAD (Association of Private College and University Alumni Directors), serving on the executive committee, and is a current member of the Private College 529 Tuition Savings Plan's board of directors.

Lenney received her bachelor's degree in theatre from Florida State University and her master's degree in women's studies from The George Washington University.

Peter R. Caborn

Peter R. Caborn
Associate Vice President, Alumni Affairs & Advancement Services and Executive Director, Alumni Association
Wayne State University

Peter R. Caborn is the associate vice president of alumni affairs and advancement services and the executive director of the alumni association at Wayne State University.  He oversees all alumni engagement, alumni communications, annual giving, information services, gift processing, and donor relations programs at Wayne State.

Prior to joining Wayne State, he served as the assistant vice president of campaigns and planning at American University (AU). While there, he oversaw AU's regional advancement, advancement services, prospect research and major gift programs, and he served as secretary to the Development Committee of AU's Board of Trustees. Earlier in his career, he served as deputy director for the Equality Ohio Education Fund, as director of major gifts and membership for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), and as national advancement director for the National Center for Adoption Law and Policy at Capital University Law School.

Caborn has nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, volunteer/board management, and program and staff development. He has served on, or chaired, a number of volunteer committees, including some for CASE, the Education Advisory Board (EAB), AFP, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Human Rights Campaign. He holds a master's degree in ethics, politics and public policy from the University of Essex (UK) and a bachelor's degree in international studies and French.


Brian Perillo

Brian Perillo
Associate Vice President, Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
New York University

Brian Perillo joined New York University in October 2012. As associate vice president of alumni relations and annual giving, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the alumni relations and annual giving programs for NYU's more than 500,000 living alumni, as well as students, parents, faculty/staff and friends. In this role, he acts as liasion to the NYU Alumni Association and Alumni and University Life committee of the Board of Trustees, and manages the university's global alumni relations program, including affinity programs; student and young alumni programs and multiple school alumni programs. He is also responsible for NYU's universty-wide annual giving program, raising more than $34 million annually.

Prior to joining the staff of NYU, Perillo served as assistant vice president for alumni relations at Rutgers University for seven years. Before entering the field of higher education in 2006, he served as a division director for the March of Dimes, and began his career in marketing services for the Boston Celtics. He is a member of PCUAD (Association of Private College and University Alumni Directors), serving on the executive committee, and is on the planning committee of the 2018 CASE Leadership Summit.

He received his bachelor's degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts and his master's degree in social sciences from Wesleyan University.


Maggie Wilson

Maggie Wilson
Executive Director, Student, Young Alumni, and Regional Programs
The George Washington University

Maggie Wilson has more than a decade of experience in higher education development and alumni relations. As executive director for alumni relations at the George Washington University, she provides the strategy and direction for all domestic and international alumni networks, and young alumni programs for graduates of the last 10 years. She also oversees all student-alumni programming efforts including the Colonial Ambassadors, GW's student-alumni association. In addition to her role as executive, she is currently serving as interim associate vice president of alumni relations. In this role, she manages the overall strategic direction and daily operations of alumni relations.

Before returning to GW as a staff member of the Office of Alumni Relations, she planned educational programs and study tours for the Smithsonian Associates. She has spoken at numerous CASE conferences on topics ranging from managing a decentralized alumni relations model to incorporating alumni relations in fundraising campaigns.

Wilson is a proud Colonial, having received both her bachelor's degree in psychology, and her master's degree in organizational management from GW.

Thomas J. Minar
President
Franklin College

Thomas J. Minar serves as the president of Franklin College a residential, liberal arts institution. Prior to this appointment, he was vice president of development and alumni relations at American University in Washington, D.C. At American he oversaw all fundraising and alumni programs, including the $200 million "AnewAU" campaign, which closed on Dec. 31, 2010, with a total of $214.1 million.

Minar previously spent five years at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, as vice president for institutional advancement and special assistant to the president. At Roosevelt he restructured and managed development and alumni relations efforts; secured significant gifts, grants and pledges for the university; and completed infrastructure changes, planning and feasibility for a $100 million comprehensive campaign.

He joined Roosevelt in 2003 after serving four years as vice president for development and external affairs and professor of religion and political science at Chicago Theological Seminary.

Minar's previous advancement roles include associate dean for external affairs and chief development officer for the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; director of development for the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations; and assistant dean and director of alumni relations for Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

He is a graduate of Pomona College with a bachelor's degree in government, and holds a master's degree in management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He earned his doctorate in political science from Northwestern.
