This session offers an overview of the ways in which societal demographics are changing and what implications that has for interpersonal and group dynamics. Consider the question of how one positions oneself as a leader. Explore how to get to the decision-making table and how that can lead you to your aspirations.

Dimensions of Leadership
Leadership is probably one of the most overused and misunderstood terms we use in the workplace today. What is leadership? How does one get better at leading? What differentiates the good leaders from the bad leaders? Examine the important distinguishing characteristics of leadership and discuss concrete approaches individuals can take to enhance their impact on organizations.

Managing Professional Relationships
One of the greatest challenges that directors face is managing professional relationships. Learn to create and administer positive interactions, access the strategic choices involved in managing interpersonal interactions, and manage internal/external relationships up, down and all around. In addition we will discuss the perception of people of diverse backgrounds and its perceived barriers.

Social Navigation and Dining Etiquette
Luncheon
As advancement professionals, we are trained to make a solicitation ask, taught techniques of writing a press release and instructed on how to organize a special event. Sadly, most of us are not trained on how to "work" a room. Social navigation is a necessary skill as we move up the chain of command. This may come in the form of a board meeting to a cocktail hour will key donors. This luncheon session will help you establish your tone and avoid the pitfall of managing conversations and people.
