Scholarships

Please complete the electronic application form as early as possible and no later than 15 September 2010. Please note that CASE Europe will not be in a position to accept applications after this date.  We will acknowledge receipt of your application within days of receiving it.

We will confirm whether or not your application has been successful on (or shortly after) 20 September 2010.

Please note that, if you apply for a scholarship and are successful, we expect you to participate in the programme. In the unlikely event that you should not be able to participate after having applied, you may be charged for costs incurred by CASE Europe if we are not able to fill your place with another participant.

Booking your flight - a note of caution
Please do not book your flight until you have received final confirmation from CASE Europe. Your travel agent might be able to secure a provisional booking for now, and your provisional booking might be cheaper than a flight bought later on.

The programme has been developed with support from HEFCE and HEFCW. Scholarships are therefore only available for staff at institutions participating in the Matched Funding Scheme for Voluntary Giving 2008-11. Please contact Joyce Achampong, achampong@case.org, if you would like to apply but your institution is not participating in the Matched Funding Scheme.

Course fees include conference and debriefing day registration, conference materials and handbook, accommodation in Boston (27 November-3 December [excl]), most meals and transpoprt/travel between locations in Boston. They do not cover flight and transfers to/from Boston, any fees you may incur to renew your travel documents (check the website of the American Embassy in London to confirm your travel documents/passport will be valid) nor do they cover travel to London or dinner following the debrief in January.

How will my application be assessed?

Your scholarship application will be assessed primarily against the following criteria:

  • Will you gain further fundraising skills from this programme?
  • Will you gain further management skills from this programme?
  • Is the programme timely for your individual progression?
  • Is the programme timely for your institution's development programme?
  • What impact will your participation have on the development function at your institution? (eg through knowledge dissemination to other staff)
  • Is this programme the most suitable training opportunity for your needs or are there other training courses?
  • Will your presence add particular value to the group, e.g. because you have special skills or experience to contribute?
