14.00 The Power of Analytics
American colleges and universities have been spoiled by access to volumes of information on their alumni and parents. The competitive philanthropic market has forced many, however, to think more critically about how scores and models can dramatically improve programmatic effectiveness. Taking a nod from the fields of marketing and member-based fundraising, colleges and universities everywhere are starting to realize the potential of these analytical tools. This session will introduce the basic principals of scoring and modeling as well as some specific (and easy to build) tools you can utilize to dramatically influence your organizations fundraising success across all development programs.

15.15 Embedding Operations in the Advancement Organization
Making time for innovative projects can be tricky business. Introducing analytical work, proactive research, let alone prospect pool analytics, requires an efficient and effective operation as well as some relationship building skills and political savvy. This session will help you to identify your best strategy for moving your research office to best practice in three (or less) years.
