Elective Sessions (choose one)

  • The Forgotten Ones: Annual and Planned Giving Donors
Annual giving donors make up more than 90 percent of our constituent pool and planned giving donors compose up to 1/3 of our gift revenue. Why are both donors so often forgotten when it pertains to stewardship? Take a fast-paced review of the challenges, but more importantly discuss possible solutions and impactful new programs.
  • How to Measure Value of Your Donor Relations Team
Stewardship and donor relations practitioners know their work internally and with donors is both an integral and strategic component of the overall gift cycle. But how to convey that impact in metrics and in language fundraisers will appreciate can be a challenge.
  • Professional School Stewardship
They come to our institutions for an advanced degree and their experience is different than that of an undergraduate. So it begs the question, should we steward professional school donors in the same way? Learn how the University of California, Davis School of Law has built a strong stewardship program for its donors.

1:00-3:30
Life Cycle of a Campaign
Campaigns have become our organizations' lifeblood. We are all either planning one, in one, or about to end one and often we don't know what it's going to take from a donor relations perspective. During this session we are going to cover all of the elements that you and your organization should consider during the planning, implementation and conclusion of a campaign.

4:00-5:00
Elective Sessions (choose one)

  • Leveraging the Mindset Difference Between Donor Relations and Frontliners
The difference in the mindset and work styles between donor relations and frontliners can be frustrating, or it can be a way to create fundraising success. Discuss how to help donor relations teams and fundraising teams work together to use their differences to inspire donor-centered magic.
  • Creating Events Donors Want to Attend
Donors come in every shape and size as do the events they will find meaningful. Discuss how events can be a powerful stewardship and cultivation tool.
  • Building Relationships Across Campus
No stewardship/donor relations team is an island. Partnerships across the institution are essential for us and for our donors. But are some relationships more important than others? • Impact Reporting
Donors should expect to see the return on their philanthropic investment in a transparent, measurable and engaging way. Hear about some standard and enhanced approaches to providing just that message.
