Fundraising for Deans and Academic Leaders

June 25, 2010
De Vere Holborn Bars
London, United Kingdom

Increasingly, senior academic staff are appreciating the rewards of getting involved in advancement and fundraising activities. Not only does investing time in these areas reap financial benefits but it can lead to new partnerships and opportunities benefiting teaching, research, enterprise and strategic development projects.

It is important that development staff and senior academics work in collaboration - this increases success rates, ensures a consistent approach to prospects, enables new opportunities to be identified and realised appropriately, ensures that advancement activities are fully integrated and valued within the academic community and that fundraising professionals can empathise with the many demand placed on a senior academics time and resources.

The Day:

Join us for a course specifically designed to encourage senior academics to increase their understanding of fundraising and to gain new skills and the confidence to enable them to work alongside colleagues in the development office to secure new funds and supporters.

Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunities for questions, debate and networking to allow senior academics and fundraisers to share their own experiences.

Delegates will:

  • Take away with them a better appreciation of fundraising from the perspectives of academics and fundraisers
  • Learn practical tips and hints on how to make the relationship between fundraisers and academics really work well
  • Gain new skills in project identification, asking and stewardship

Who Should Attend?

Based on the experience of previous years, we recommend that senior fundraisers attend together with their academics to ensure swift implementation of the day's learning.
