Through the Peter Buchanan Scholarship program, CASE ASAP awards scholarships each year to its annual network convention. Scholarships are awarded based on the potential impact the convention will have on the student as an advancement leader.
The scholarship was named after Peter Buchanan, president emeritus of CASE, in recognition of his strong support of student advancement programming.
What the Scholarship Covers
Winners receive a complementary registration and US$400 toward costs incurred by attending the network convention (transportation, lodging and registration). Recipients will be notified ahead of the convention and recognized at an event during the convention.
Student applicants must be from a CASE ASAP member organization in good standing. A student organization may submit as many active members as it wishes. (Use a separate application for each person applying.) The same person may not win a scholarship two years in a row.
Scholarship applications will be judged based on:
Impact of nominee on members and peers
Nominee’s commitment to and support of organization and institution
Nominee’s ability to be a successful leader and motivator for his or her organization
Nominee’s involvement in the organization, including leadership positions held and honors received
Application neatness, readability, grammar and punctuation
The scholarship must be used in the same calendar year in which it is awarded.
If a scholarship recipient does not return to school for the academic term following the convention, his or her institution is expected to return the scholarship.
In the event the winner cannot attend the convention, the selection committee may award the scholarship to another applicant.
Applications are due April 7, 2017. For more information, contact Robyn Neeley online or at +1-202-478-5632.
