Social Media & Community: Developing and Managing Strategies for Online Outreach
Faculty

Message from the chair

Community. Conversation. Engagement. Social media is more about building relationships than about computers and technology. And it's not too late for you to participate. Our conference faculty developed a program that will give you the information you need to discern relevant tools from gimmicky ones, kick start your social media strategy, define success and measure results, and monitor your online reputation. Join us in April and walk away with a practical approach to the tools that have changed the way we interact with one another and with our constituents.

Joel F. W. Price came to work at Friends' Central at a time when Facebook, Twitter and social media were not phrases spoken or understood by adults on school campuses. Over his five years, he has helped the Friends' Central administration see the benefits of being active participants in social media. He has been extremely interested in the connecting powers available through new social media, and in how to use different pieces to form a coherent and accessible whole. Price has skillfully engaged a community of prospective and current students, alumni/ae, parents, faculty and donors.
