CFR Master Class
June 5, 2013
San Francisco Marriott Marquis
San Francisco, Calif., United States
9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Eastern
How do universities respond to the shifting winds in higher education philanthropy? How do CFR professionals work to ensure greater access to the largest philanthropic institutions in setting the nation's philanthropic agenda? Alison Bernstein, former vice president at the Ford Foundation and current director of the Institute for Women's Leadership at Rutgers University, will participate in a discussion on philanthropy's changing relationship with higher education.
Author of the forthcoming book in the American Council on Education series, Funding the Future: Philanthropic Influences on American Higher Education, Bernstein will help the group articulate a problem statement addressing this fundamental evolution. The session will also include a discussion, facilitated by the University of Michigan's Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship, on how American universities, leading through change, can help reset their role in the future of higher education philanthropy.
