Feb. 15 - 17, 2017 Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., United States
The Winter Institute explores the roles and responsibilities of today's CDOs along with the principal challenges they face, helping them prepare for and succeed in meeting those challenges. The institute is designed for current CDOs, new CDOs, other senior advancement professionals, and those who work most closely with CDOs including presidents, executive directors and board members.
This year's conference focuses on the CDO's responsibilities as a member of the president's cabinet. We will discuss effective approaches and overcoming challenges in working with the president, the board and other cabinet members including the CFO and provost. The faculty and presenters will include successful board members, presidents and chief development officers. Excellence in fundraising and proficiency in the management of fundraisers are important, but today's CDOs must also be--and be seen as--strong contributors to the overall strategic leadership of their organizations. CDOs will receive practical advice on establishing productive working relationships with other senior leaders and becoming successful and valued cabinet members.
Program starts midday on Wednesday and ends midday on Friday.
Participation in this conference will prepare attendees to:
Succeed in fundraising and management of fundraisers, but also as senior leaders within their organizations.
Balance responsibilities as senior fundraisers, as thought partners to the president and board, and as cabinet members.
Learn to navigate politics, overcome challenges, avoid common pitfalls and establish productive working relationships with other senior institutional leaders.
