Funding a Graduate Trainee Scheme

As a supporter of the CASE Graduate Trainee Programme, you will be working in partnership with CASE Europe to provide post-graduate training, internship, employment and long term career options for young graduates. More importantly, you will be building capacity within higher education for voluntary giving to these important UK institutions. And ultimately, positively influencing the lives of students, communities and other benefactors of world-leading research and teaching.

Why should partners support the scheme?

The CASE Europe Graduate Trainee Programme provides bright, talented graduates for development offices in UK universities, where there is a shortage of skilled and experienced staff. This ensures ongoing capacity building in voluntary giving to higher educational institutions. The impact of a network of engaged, committed and skilled fundraisers working in advancement offices, with strong links to those who have invested in their futures, and with CASE, is continued growth in philanthropy both in terms of funds for universities and the numbers of donors giving to higher education. This will, in turn, develop the worldwide reputations of our universities.

By providing financial backing to the scheme established by an international organisation of the stature of CASE, this investment also represents a partnership with the top universities in the United Kingdom. Supporting the CASE Europe Graduate Trainee Scheme over a three-year period is an investment in bright graduates and the growing profession of educational fundraising.

What does the Graduate Trainee Programme cost?

The cost of funding each traineeship is £15,000. CASE Europe intends to provide a further 24 traineeships over the next 3 years with a total value of £360,000. There are several options open to organisations wishing to support the graduate trainee programme from funding an individual placement for three years to contributing to recruitment costs or working in partnership with CASE to supply the training elements of the scheme. Will I be recognised for my support?

In recognition of their support of CASE Europe and its pioneering programme, all supporters will receive:

  • Recognition on CASE website with link to relevant press releases, if appropriate.
  • Invitations to attend all Reunion and Networking events for graduates and alumni.
  • E-newsletter with success stories and case studies from graduates and alumni on a regular basis throughout the year.
  • Annual report on the impact of your support of the CASE Europe Graduate Trainee Scheme.
What is the time-frame of the graduate trainee scheme?

Funding is sought for the period March 2013 to August 2016 and preparations for the recruitment process for 2013-14 trainees will begin in March 2013. Each training programme runs for a 50 week period starting at the CASE Europe Annual Conference in August. The trainee will be an employee of the host university for the duration of the scheme.
