CASE Europe's Graduate Trainee Programme introduces high quality UK graduates to a rewarding fundraising and advancement career within the higher education sector.
The Graduate Trainee Programme, in partnership with a selection of UK universities, has been developed to provide an entry point for bright young professionals into a fulfilling career raising money, engagement and support for UK universities and the public value and influence they serve.
Today the advancement community has never been more needed. With government funding for universities decreasing, institutions must raise more private funds and garner more support in order to continue making a difference to the lives of students, local communities and the benefactors of world-leading research.
Now in its fifth year, CASE Europe is looking for support to train a further 24 high-calibre university fundraisers over the next three years, in partnership with UK universities.
Each graduate is recruited to a host university where they spend an in-depth year learning on the job. Trainees will work within each area of the university's development function, including alumni relations, prospect management, annual and regular giving, stewardship, campaigns, major gifts, events and partnerships. The breadth of this experience in a tight timeframe provides graduates with a fully rounded view of fundraising in higher education and its vital supporting operations.
The scheme also gives trainees paid-for access to three invaluable CASE Europe educational training programmes, including:
In addition, each trainee will participate in a one month secondment period at a co-host university with a smaller and less well established development office, during which time the graduates are able to accelerate their learning through increased responsibility and autonomy.
Trainees who complete the scheme go on to generate philanthropic income through their fundraising efforts. They will hopefully become the Development Directors of the future who will in turn enhance the volume and impact of philanthropy on UK higher education.
