How many of us have commented, "I fell into the field of advancement" or "I wish I knew about the advancement profession when I was a student." While accidental for many of us, it does not have to be for our future students. Many institutions are looking desperately to find new talent and often it is standing right in from them.

This session will help institutions chart a blueprint for grooming students for success and provide a map for mentoring programs in order to grow their advancement pipeline. In addition, participants will receive materials that will help them create their own student advancement internship programs.

Shaun B. Keister, a veteran fundraiser with experience in higher education, arts and conservation philanthropy, became UC Davis' first vice chancellor for development and alumni relations in 2011. Keister functions as the campus's chief fundraising officer and also serves as president of the UC Davis Foundation. He has served in a series of high-level development posts at Florida State, Iowa State and Penn State universities.

Keister has served as a CASE member and volunteer, speaking at more than 30 international conferences. He is a 2005 recipient of the CASE Crystal Apple Award for excellence in teaching.
