Lorena McLaren joined Carnegie Mellon in January 2012. As an associate director, she manages a portfolio of companies for the university focusing on energy systems, manufacturing and strategic initiatives. Prior to Carnegie Mellon, she worked at the University of Washington for sixteen years in the College of Engineering serving as director of corporate and foundation relations and the engineering co-op program director.

McLaren holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Central Washington University and a master's degree in education from Western Washington University.
