The advancement profession has evolved from the era of early "rainmakers" who pluck low-hanging fruit, to the advancement operation of today that has a keen focus on infrastructure and process systems in support of relationship management. This session will focus on the key interdependent roles that advancement services, marketing and communications, alumni, and development play in the cultivation of life-long relationships. Michael Westfall
Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the EWU Foundation
Eastern Washington University

Since 2006 Michael Westfall has served Eastern Washington University as vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the EWU Foundation. In this leadership capacity he is responsible for the areas of advancement services, marketing and communication, alumni relations, development, and foundation management. Westfall has held positions of increasing scope and responsibility, having worked for Georgetown University, Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, University of Toronto and Radford University. He is an active speaker, consultant and author within the advancement community. Westfall is a graduate of Indiana University.
