Instameet at the CASE Europe Annual Conference

Spend the Annual Conference's free evening exploring and photographing Manchester with other delegates at CEAC's first Instameet* on the evening of Wednesday 02 September.

What is an Instameet?

An Instameet is a social event where a group of people get together, follow a predetermined route, take photos of what they see and then share their images on Instagram. Instameets are open to everyone - whether they use a smart phone, the latest DSLR camera or something in between.

"They are a great opportunity to explore a new space, meet other people in a relaxed and informal way and get some great photos too," says Beth Astington, Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator, University of Birmingham and CEAC Instameet organiser.

"There is also a social element as Instameets often end at a bar for a few drinks (for those that want to)."

Furthermore, they allow institutions and organisations to showcase their campus or surroundings visually: an Instameet generates a wealth of creative an interesting images on social media, while engaging with both online and local communities. The organisers have successfully run Instameets at their own institutions. We also have support from @igersmcr, the Manchester branch of the global Instagramers community.
