Awards may be given to superior achievements in an individual media relations activity within your overall news and information department. Programs or projects may be aimed at external or internal audiences and may be ongoing or new this year as long as they have been in place long enough to have produced well-documented results.

Entries may include but are not limited to:

  • Media monitoring
  • Experts' guides and online media
  • Press conferences/press kits
  • Programs to enhance presidential visibility
  • Institutional initiatives such as the environment or to launch new programs

Entry Questions
  • Title of entry
  • Provide a concise description of this entry
  • Please provide the names of staff who worked on this entry
  • State objectives and how they support your institution's mission
  • Describe what is innovative about your entry
  • Describe the online components of your entry, if applicable
  • List your target audience(s) and how you addressed their needs
  • Brief description of your institution/organization (type, enrollment, mission)
  • If outside vendors/consultants were used, please explain what role they played
  • Total budget for entry, excluding salaries but including the cost of vendors/consultants
  • Describe your results and how you met your goals and objectives; if this is a recently launched program, describe your plans to evaluate it
  • Please provide the name of the head of your institution
  • So that we may recognize our winners through social media, please provide your institution's preferred @handle and/or #hashtag. (For example: @CASEAdvance #CASECOE)
  • Share any additional information to clarify the purpose and/or outcome of this work

Entry Instructions

Each program constitutes a single entry. You may enter as many programs as you wish. Programs may be ongoing or new this year but must have been in place long enough to show quantifiable results. Winning programs may not be resubmitted for an award within three years of its first submission.

  1. Submit your entry with attachments through our online entry process.
  2. Your entry form and supporting documents must be submitted online no later than March 9, 2018. This category will be reviewed electronically and need not be mailed to the judging location. However, please print out your entry application for your records.

Judging Criteria

Grand Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards may be given to superior achievements in an individual media relations activity within your overall news and information department.

The judges will look at:

  • Program objectives and how they support your institution's mission
  • Scope of the program
  • Research and strategic planning
  • Quality and diversity of materials
  • Understanding of your target audience(s)
  • Innovative and creative ideas
  • Effective use of available resources
  • Results (Did you meet your goals? How?)
