Best Practices in Communications and Marketing recognizes exemplary programs, projects and initiatives in communications and marketing that serve as models for other institutions, provide a successful solution to overcoming challenges, reflect strategic use of resources, achieve significant results and/or utilize innovative practices. Entries can address projects in a variety of areas, including public relations, media relations, internal communications, crisis communications, branding and integrated marketing.

Entry Questions
  • Title of entry
  • Brief description of institution/organization
  • Description of program/project/initiative and its purpose as it relates to institutional or advancement goals. Include target audience.
  • Total budget for project/program/initiative. If applicable, include any expenses related to the use of a vendor/consultant.
  • What were your results?
  • Share any additional information to clarify the purpose and/or outcome of this work
  • If necessary, please provide a brief description of any attachments.

Entry Instructions

Each program/project/initiative constitutes a single entry. You may enter as many programs/projects as you wish. Program or projects may be ongoing or new this year but must have been in place long enough to show quantifiable results. Winning programs may not be resubmitted for an award within three years of its first submission.

1. Submit your entry with attachments through our online entry process.

2. Your entry form and supporting documents must be submitted online no later than 9 March 2018.


Judging Criteria

The judges will recognize entries that demonstrate:

  • significant results
  • audience engagement
  • strategic use of resources
  • creativity/innovation

The first round of judging will be conducted through CASE Asia-Pacific. Up to two finalists will be selected. Finalists will be judged against finalists from CASE Europe and CASE's 8 North American districts during a second round of judging conducted through CASE Headquarters. The Platinum winner(s) for this category will be announced in June. 


Non-English Entries

CASE welcomes entries in other languages besides English in this category. While entry questions must be completed in English to facilitate judging, entry materials written in languages other than English are eligible for recognition as long as such materials are accompanied by brief explanations written in English.
