The Chandler Award recognizes a corporation or foundation for outstanding contributions to independent schools. Nominations of community foundations, local businesses and national or international corporations or foundations are acceptable.
The award is named in honor of John R. Chandler, former assistant headmaster at the Hotchkiss School, and one of CASE's first independent school trustees.

Judging and Selection Process
Nominations are reviewed by judges from independent schools who are currently serving on one of CASE's commissions or board of trustees. Judges may also be former recipients of the Robert Bell Crow Memorial Award.
Selection process
Judges review all nominations and vote for their top choices. CASE tallies the votes and winners are named.
