Interactive Multimedia Programs

The panel for this category included six judges that included designers and strategists. There were 20 entries this year, ranging from Flash e-mails to viewbooks on CD-ROMs.
We did not give any awards this year.
Overall, the judges were surprised and disappointed at the lack of quality exhibited by the entries. Some were entered in the wrong category: a video burned on a CD-ROM or a DVD is not “interactive” in any respect and should be entered as a video. Other entries were poorly done, with low-quality video or audio assets, a badly designed interface, or a real lack of interaction. Nothing stood out—certainly nothing of sufficient quality to be given a national award.
