Karen Napier, associate dean advancement, London Business School In 2009 Karen Napier joined London Business School in the newly-created role of associate dean advancement. Following a restructuring of the Advancement Group, the School is now in the silent phase of a £100 million comprehensive campaign. This campaign will support and expand the School's world-class research, academic programmes and facilities, with a goal of securing London Business School's long-term future in an increasingly competitive global market.

Chris Watts, director of student services, Northumbria University Chris is director of student services at Northumbria University where he has worked for 9 years and where he is responsible for overseeing the student experience from initial enquiry to graduation. In this his key responsibilities include: UK/EU and International marketing intelligence; marketing; student recruitment; and, admissions. Chris is a member of the Charted Institute of Marketing (CIM), Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) and the Universities Marketing Forum (UMF).

Shaun Horan, director of development and external affairs, University of Reading As director of development and external affairs for the University of Reading, Shaun Horan leads a number of activities for the University including fundraising and alumni relations, student recruitment and marketing, and internal and external communications. He is also responsible for setting the Public Affairs strategy for the University, and for reputation building and management. In his role, Shaun manages a team of directors each with responsibilities within the areas above, and liaises with key alumni and external stakeholders to engage them in participating in the activities of the University.
Shaun has a wealth of experience across several sectors, beginning his career as a Barrister, before leaving law for the voluntary sector, concentrating on the developing world. He switched to higher education in 2004, accepting a post to establish fundraising at University of Reading. Over the past five years, the University has raised around £25 million from a standing start.

Bill O'Hearn, director of development, Eton College Bill O'Hearn has been director of development at Eton College since 2005 and has established the school's development office and helped lead its first comprehensive fundraising campaign since the 1950s. The first phase of the campaign is expected to conclude this year with £50 million in commitments. Prior to Eton Bill worked at Bryanston, Yale and Kenyon.

Kate Robertson, director of development & alumni relations, University of Nottingham Kate graduated from the University of Liverpool (Chester College) in 1990 with a BA Combined Honours in History and Drama (2:i) completing a dissertation on state versus private support of theatres, from which her career in fundraising was launched. She has spent 14 years fundraising in arts in the UK, including positions with English National Opera, Tate Liverpool, Arts & Business (North West), the Royal Academy of Arts and Somerset House, covering the full spectrum of individual, trust and foundation and corporate support.
She moved to the Higher Education sector in 2004 when she joined the University of Liverpool to establish the University's first in-house development and alumni relations office. In September 2009, Kate moved to the University of Nottingham to lead their £150M campaign. Kate has been a member of the UK's Higher Education Ross Group of Development Directors since 2006.

Beatrice Caston, development director, International School of Düsseldorf Beatrice, a Belgian national, currently is development director at the International School of Düsseldorf and is head of the admissions, communication and development department (after having worked as a social worker in a company, taught and been a counselor in schools, having been in charge of admissions in an international school and having obtained a Diploma in Business Management).
Beatrice has lived and worked in different countries and is very actively involved in several international organizations, including being an executive Board member of the of the Alliance for International Education, a committee chairperson of the Cross Culture Committee and member of the Development Committee in the European Council of International Schools and a member of accreditation teams in the Council of International Schools. She is a regular presenter at Conferences. One of her life's endeavors is the furthering of intercultural understanding, cross-cultural communication and international cooperation.

Barbara de Colombe, executive director, HEC School of Management Foundation Barbara has been the executive director at Foundation HEC since December 2008. She is in charge of the coordination of the current fundraising campaign (www.thecampaign-hec.com) with a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers. The campaign's goal is to raise €100M over 5 years to support HEC development (scholarships, research and faculty, facilities) and build its endowment to ensure sustainable support.
