Donald Falkenstein was appointed CASE’s vice president of business and finance in June 2003 after serving twice as acting vice president. He oversees CASE’s financial and business operations, including budget management, human resources, information technology and the member service center. He serves as liaison to the board’s finance committee as well as to the treasurers of CASE’s eight districts in North America.

Don joined CASE as its controller in 1998 and has more than 25 years of experience in association financial management with CASE and the American Society of Internal Medicine, where he served as chief financial officer, director of finance and computer operations, and comptroller. He also worked as an accountant for a D.C.-area accounting firm and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Don is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from George Mason University.

Rae Goldsmith serves as vice president for advancement resources. She oversees the development and delivery of advancement content through the offices of communications, books publishing and product development, CURRENTS magazine, the CASE information center and research. She also serves as staff liaison to the board’s Committee on the Profession and the Commission on Communications and Marketing. Rae joined the staff in 2005 as vice president for communications and marketing.

Rae joined the CASE staff after 22 years in educational communications and marketing. She was associate vice president for communications and marketing at the University of Louisville, where she led a nationally recognized integrated marketing program. She was also associate vice president for public relations and marketing at Central Michigan University and director of public information services at Ball State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in public relations.

An active CASE volunteer before joining the staff, Rae chaired the Annual Assembly and the conference for senior public relations professionals, served on the Commission on Communications and Marketing, and was a CURRENTS author and frequent conference speaker. She has been recognized with the CASE Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teaching at CASE conferences.

Ron Mattocks became CASE's vice president for marketing, membership and external relations in December 2009 after serving as an association and nonprofit consultant. At CASE, he oversees initiatives in marketing, membership, corporate relations, and government relations and institutionally related foundations. He also serves as staff liaison to the Commission on Alumni Relations and the board's member services committee.

Before joining CASE, Mattocks served as principal of Mattocks & Associates Inc. and held senior-level marketing and membership roles at the American College of Cardiology, the American Society for Training and Development, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New Jersey Hospital Association. In addition, he has served as assistant vice president for institutional advancement at Rowan University in New Jersey. He is author of the book Zone of Insolvency: How Nonprofits Avoid Hidden Liabilities and Build Financial Strength (Wiley, 2008).

Mattocks earned master's degrees in management from the University of Pennsylvania and in education/public relations from Rowan University. He earned a bachelor's degree from Philadelphia Biblical University.

Amir Pasic was appointed vice president of CASE international operations in 2011. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for CASE regional offices in London, Singapore and Mexico City and oversees CASE activities in Africa and other areas outside of the United States. He also serves as liaison to the board’s international committee.

Pasic came to CASE from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he served as associate dean for development and strategic planning. At SAIS, he was responsible for fundraising, alumni relations, strategic planning and branding initiatives for campuses in Washington, Bologna and Nanjing. Prior to his work at SAIS, he was deputy vice president for advancement at George Washington University (GWU), where his responsibilities included evaluating and expanding the advancement office's international efforts. At GWU, he also served as interim head of advancement data services and executive director of corporate and foundation relations.

Pasic's previous positions include serving as foundation specialist at the Library of Congress and deputy director for the world security project at the Rockefeller Brothers fund. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Yale, a master's in international relations from SAIS, and a doctorate in political science from University of Pennsylvania. He also attended American schools in Iran and Austria and is conversant in five languages. Pasic was a CASE member for 10 years prior to joining the staff.

Norma Walker serves as CASE vice president for advancement programs, overseeing in-person and online conferences, awards, emerging constituencies, CASE ASAP and the career center. These responsibilities include the annual development, delivery, and evaluation of more than 60 on-site professional development conferences as well as the CASE Online Speaker Series. Each year these conferences attract more than 25,000 participants from all advancement disciplines and experience levels.

Norma is also staff liaison to the board’s Member Services Committee and to the Commission on Philanthropy. Norma joined CASE as director of educational fundraising programs in 1982 and was later named director of all educational programs before her appointment as acting vice president and vice president of professional development. She has also held positions with the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, and as a teacher. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Hartford.

Brett Chambers serves as executive director of volunteer relations. He oversees operations associated with CASE’s volunteer leadership, including the CASE board and three advisory commissions for alumni relations, communications and marketing, and philanthropy, and is the liaison with CASE’s eight districts in North America. He also oversees special projects for the office of the president.

Brett initially joined the CASE staff in 1987, working in the divisions of conference services and public and external affairs before becoming director of educational initiatives. He left CASE to serve as manager of resource development and corporate relations at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) for approximately two years before returning to CASE for his current position in 2001. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University.
